Believing that the Holy Bible are the inspired word of God is one of the core tenets of our Christian faith.
The Holy Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, contain God’s commands, teachings and promises.
To understand what God wants us to do, we must read the Bible daily, at least once a day. This is even more vital for us older introverted spinsters, especially if you’re living alone or are childless and have no direct descendants. I say this because for us spinsters, God is our sole refuge.

Do You Need A Routine?
That depends entirely upon your personality, how you like to live your life, and spend your day.
Personally, having more structure helps me get through my day. However, I’ve allowed myself grace, and my routine is flexible enough that if I’m short of time in the morning and don’t have enough time to read an entire chapter, I will read a verse and meditate on that the entire day.
Set Up Your Routine According To Your Preferred Time of Day
For you early birds, obviously, mornings work for you. Wake up with a prayer before you open your Bible.
If you prefer the evenings, reading the Bible at night, maybe after dinner, can help you wind down.
Using a Bible reading plan will keep you on track. Of course, you don’t have to use a reading plan; you can simply pick a book of the Bible and read a chapter a day until you’ve finished the book.
Read the Bible
No matter what plan you choose, or how you set up your routine, the most important thing is that you read the Bible a little every day.
Pray over what you read, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand what you’ve read.
May God help you in your pursuit of more of Him.
