Thank you for staying with me so far. I’ve often found that writing down my day, helps me get to the deep hidden thing that’s bothering me. Which in turn clears my thinking enough to get other ideas to me.
I write entirely to find out what I’m thinking, what I’m looking at, what I see, and what it means. What I want and what I fear.

What’s on Your Mind Right Now?

Follow These Steps to Journal Away the Day
- Say a short to the point prayer thanking God for the day He’s given you, and ask Him to reveal anything important while you journal that you should know, and what to do.
- Set a timer for 10 minutes. If you don’t have that long then set it for as long as you can. If you feel that 10 minutes isn’t enough, then set it for as long as you want.
- Write this question as your writing prompt: What’s on my mind right now?
- Freewrite. Keep writing down whatever is on your mind right now without stopping.
- Do not edit while you write! This is important because we tend to worry about our grammar, and how we ‘sound’ even in our private writings.
- When other thoughts come in, and they will come in, don’t fight them, keep writing. Write down the new thoughts; you’ll find in them an explanation of what you can do next.
- Continue writing until you feel you’re done.
- Say a short prayer of gratitude to God, thanking Him for all He has shown you in your writing.
Depending on the day, and how full my schedule is for the day, I do this after my after-work chores (laundry, or helping around the house), or before I go to bed.
Prayer
“Father God, You are Holy and worthy to be praised! Thank You, for this day and for bringing me through it. Show me what You want me to know and learn about the people I met, and how to pray for them. In Jesus’ name, I pray this. Amen!”
