A suffering country

No one is at ease in Zion.
No one can be.
The world crisis is added to the crisis of the state,
and both are added to the problems of domestic life.

Almost everywhere neighbours tell you of a war
widow trying to raise her children. Of people working
two jobs to meet the minimum wage amidst
austere measures imposed by the government.

Feel the pressure of enemies:
One could live,
but they simply won't let you.

On this speck of land,
a troubled people has come to rest.
