A

literary and spiritual home where I gather reflections on faith, solitude, books, gardens, photography, and the grace of ordinary life.

Eremos

The Greek word ἔρημος (erēmos) speaks of lonely places, wilderness places, and places set apart.

For me, it has become the place where distractions fall away, where prayer becomes less hurried, and where I remember that God is often found in the quiet as much as in the extraordinary.

Solitary Grace grew out of those places.

  • The delicate vine

    It runs and roams
    over walls, over fences,
    over your house
    if you let it -
    this delicate vine.

Perhaps that's why it runs and roams:
    because it's so delicate.
It needs more space to spread
    its limbs, fingers, and toes.

    See how it basks
    in the sun,
    gathering strength for
    another midnight run.

If you creep up to it,
    ever so quietly,
    you can hear it humming,
    a melody of places roamed.

Practice and Presence

Notes from the ordinary practices that shape my life with God: prayer, keeping a diary, writing, simplicity, stillness, and the small rhythms through which faith is formed over time..

Word and Whisper

Where the ancient authority of Scripture meets the intuitive pull of the interior world. Reflections from Scripture, theology, and the questions that arise while reading God’s Word. A place to linger with passages, trace recurring themes, and record what continues to whisper long after the page is turned.

Midnight and Manna

Midnight and Manna gathers reflections written during seasons of loneliness, grief, waiting, unanswered questions, and spiritual dryness. These are notes from the night watch—moments when faith is tested, prayer feels quiet, and God’s presence is sought in the dark as much as in the light.

Lens and Liturgy

Where I capture the sacred rhythms of the everyday, in both light and word.

Marginalia and Meaning

Notes from the margins—books that shape a quieter life with God. Where reading becomes reflection, and stories become formation. What I underline, and what lingers.

In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.
