Photo Walk: The Sensitive, Healing Weed

The ‘sensitive plant’ wasn’t the least bit sensitive and was a bane of my childhood. It carpeted our backyard, scratching our feet and legs whenever we ran across it.

You’ve probably seen this photo on my About page, and other blog posts. I took the photo weeks ago, when searching for a mascot of sorts, for my blog.

Did you know that its botanical name is mimosa pudica? Cute, right?

Or that it has healing properties?

Or that some actually grow it in pots, as household plants? Yes, you read that right: in pots.

Only now can I appreciate old touch-me-not’s subtle beauty and its introvert-like soul.

What do you think about the sensitive plant as a mascot for an introvert’s personal blog? Aren’t you thankful that as an introvert, you’re not only sensitive to the beauty around you, but that you have a healing presence? Share your thoughts in the comments.

And be careful not to step into one of these.
